Rent a Crowd magically appears

School of Hygiene students - on the march!

Sometimes if you miss something by just a few minutes, you’d never knew it had happened.  That certainly was the case for us recently;  we were at home at a time we weren’t “usually” there… and all of a sudden we heard much hand clapping, cheering and beating of drums.  We quickly looked outside to see what was up.

What was up, was that the School of Hygiene was on the march!   Now, The School of Hygiene is a landmark of sorts near where we live.   For example, when we catch a share taxi from the centre of town, we ask if they can drop us at the “School of Hygiene Junction”.  The school itself is about 50 metres up the road from our home.  To date, the only really noteworthy exposure we have had to the school has been listening to their mosque calling the faithful to prayer multiple times a day!

However, all that was about to change for us, as we quickly rushed outside to watch the entire school march past; placards in hand, all dressed up in their school golf shirts proudly indicating “preventive medicine” on the back.

Two minutes later, it was all over, Red Rover.  We were glad we were able to catch this spectacle!
